Let... Me... In...

"She's right behind me... Isn't she?!"
I've been a fan of vampire movies since Interview With the Vampires, Monster Squad, and anything vampire-ish movies I watched when I was in elementary school. I don't know, vampires are cool! They are ruthless and brutal but in a very chic-classy way (look, I'm not a sadistic but I just love the idea of the vampire characterization—the most elegant predator ever lived :D).

Unfortunately since the release of Twilight seems like everything goes wrong. I read a research that teenage girls in United States, a few of them, were engaging in a pretty serious 'necrophilia' problem. That is scary! Rob Pattinson may not nailed his performance in that most not-dramatic-and-lifeless-vampire-movies-ever, even though I was pretty much dazzled by Edward Cullen's presence and I gotta admit I love the first Twilight book. But when the girls were all over Rob, I really get it. He's hot. But I don't understand to the girls who actually 'digested' the fake idea of 'vampire is the real gentlemen' and started to love the immortal creature, not the actor. OH PLEASE.

Why am I suddenly talking about vampires? Let's say I just watched a Korean music video on MTV. And there was Chloe Moretz on it (yeah, the cutie Hit Girl from Kick-Ass!). She killed a big guy, and her skin turned ugly when it's touched by sunlight. And then I read that it's the soundtrack of her movie Let Me In. Oh yeah, a vampire movie that I've missed this year. And I feel so stupid for not paying a lot more attention to it, because apparently most top critics gave a very wonderful review.

I really love the theatrical poster of Let Me In. Artistic!

Let Me In is a remake of 2008 Swedish movie Let The Right One In which was based on a 2004 novel with the same title. The story tells about a 12-years-old boy who is being bullied at school who befriends a little vampire girl. She moved next door to him, and get closer ever since. This might sound cheesy right? But according to a review I read, it makes us think about who's the real monster. Most of the humans are described flawed: a pedophile man, bullying kids, and murderers. While that little vampire girl (who physically looks 12 but actually 2 centuries old) doesn't actually do anything wrong except that she needs blood to live.

For those of you who loves vampire features might understand why it was titled 'let me in' or 'let the right one in'. Here's my brief explanation: like I said before, vampire is a monster in disguise. It often described as an elegant, sleek, calm, and even sensual person. Another thing is that they actually have manners. If you've watched True Blood—the first season, when Sookie Stackhouse met Bill Compton for the first time—you can see it clearly. Bill said to Sookie that he wouldn't enter her house unless she invited him in. It's a good thing I guess, but ironically a few humans doesn't understand the meaning of it.

Anyways, I think I gotta go out tomorrow to Universal (my most favorite place to rent DVDs!), and rent both version of the movies directly! I believe in Matt Reeves (director of Cloverfield), who directed the English version movie, that he will bring the horror and the thrill to us!

And below is a clip from the movie which I really like. If you remember the Twilight movie where Bella finds out about Edward's true identity, then this scene actually resemblances that. But I think it's way better because: even these little actors have more assuring and deep expression than Pattinson and Stewart's. Shame on those two on the latter.

Owen: Are you a vampire?
Abby: I need blood to live.
Owen: How old are you–really?
Abby: Twelve. I've been twelve for a very long time.

And here's the theatrical trailer:

And here's the Shin Hye Sung's music video, Hello And Goodbye, the soundtrack of Let Me In movie:
